friday's trades

The Euro (6E) has been choppy all morning and not moving anywhere..the Russell started sliding down once the U.S. equity markets opened and continued for a while before totally reversing to the upside..I took all the entries as per my rules..got caught on some and didn't hold some long enough..over the weekend I may look at adjusting my targets on the trades as targetting 14 ticks means many times I miss out on a much larger move..I am also going to be evaluating choosing certain trades instead of taking every set up, for example the last trade was one I shouldn't have taken bcoz I could tell the market was bottoming out and starting to reverse..this is where some higher time-frame analysis comes in handy as right now I am solely working on taking entries..once that's down I can pick and choose the best ones to take based on market structure etc..net +15 ticks

Here are the trade entries on the Russell futures with the new charts..up and down day, sometimes tf moved nice other times choppy...11 trades and 5 were losses, net was still positive at +21 ticks...

Following on from my previous post, I have been studying and learning the new futures charts I have been working with and have been putting them in play on the euro futures and the russell futures in particular, sometimes oil as well..here are the trades taken today, the numbers show the ticks gained or lost on the trade and the arrows show entries and exits..note that trades are only entered on a close of the bar pointed at..

euro: was in a nice downtrend all morning, so looking at pullback to short...got 3 really nice ones which all hit target (14 ticks) then took the last one knowing the move was exhausting itself and got stopped out..total +31 ticks

russell: started out with the russell a bit choppy, fist trade was after a downmove pullback to short it didnt work out but the stop was pretty tight..next was looking for a continuation long and got it..same trade after for a loss then one more long for a gain..following that was choppy action iwth flat ma's so waiting for some direction..

We then started pushing down nicely..waited for the pullbacks to short..grabbed one for a full target, next went 10 ticks in my favour so i moved my stop to b/e+1 and got hit..next were all basic trades in the direction of the trend..total on the russell +65 ticks..

Liking the new setups and charts and will hopefully be able to get more familiar as time goes on as well...so far so good

Still here trading away, done a bit of travelling over the last couple months as well as now getting ready to pack up and head back home to Bermuda so quite busy...have been working the futures markets testing some stuff out as well as normal scalping..here's a futures trade from today short the emini russell index..
