U.S. employment news trades

As you can imagine, I was pretty tired so fell back asleep shortly after the Frankfurt trade I took...woke up again in time for the big employment news release in the States...if only all news trades were this easy...got the initial push down, waited for price to retrace a bit then hopped in the trade once price had turned in the direction of the trend again..an easy 12 pips, followed by a bit of waiting then grabbed another 8 on a little push south again...keeping it simple and smart allows for stress free trades, over 20 pips banked today and it's still early lol...will be around the charts for a few more hrs today so hopefully some more to come..

Frankfurt and London trading

Finally up early enough to trade a Frankfurt and London session..so far moves look alrite, I had a late entry and was forced to wait for my 3 pips to start the session...will see what else it brings (until I get sleepy) then up again to trade the U.S...

Asia trading (for a change)

Decided to trade some of the Asia session as I missed a couple days of good moves....grabbed a quick 10 and was an effortless trade, if only they all could be like this lol...simple and smart, trade took less than a minute..

Back in action

Back to the tradedesk after spending a few days in Orlando for my brother's 21st birthday. Looking at the charts and I see that there have been some good moves over the last few days..looking to get back on track after the disappointing interest rate trades last Wed.

Interest Rate trades...

What an anti-climax...entries were hard to find, and add that to the fact that price was jumping everywhere meant I only got in 2 trades, a win and a loss for a net of.....1 pip!! lol anyway back at it again tomorrow

A Quick Wednesday scalp

Wasn't planning on trading today until the interest rate announcement this afternoon, however one of my alarms on the euro went off so I thought I'd take a look...I have no clue what triggered it but all of a sudden the Euro started dropping like a rock, so I took a quick short for a few pips..will be around but waiting until the rate announcement to ride the price flutuations..

Tuesday's first trade

Traded yesterday but only took a couple trades for tiny gains...was tied up for most of the day as my folks were in town...today has started well with a textbook G/J trade..got the initial push down, waited for a pullback and then continuation which gave some good pips..+10 to start off the day and I'll be around for another few hours so hopefully we can grab some more..I'm also keeping an eye on the Euro which has pushed up to the 1.48 area..

Friday EU trade

The EU is alot easier to predict as moves are not as drastic as the GJ...when I was first introduced to rainbow scalping (thanks Jimbo), this is the pair I traded and along with one of my good trading buddy's, we worked at perfecting how to trade this pair...I've decided to add the EU to my trades as I find myself sitting and waiting for GJ setups when I could be more productive and trading something else in the meantime..so here's an EU trade I took for a quick scalp..

Friday's session

Trading was smooth in today's session finally...on the GJ I waited till i got a c27 signal and then as usual looked for my c6 entry...i missed out on plenty of pips but still am happy with what I managed...on a side note, I've added the EU to my watchlist as well...I first learned to scalp trading the Euro and it has been moving well of late, so in an effort to keep productive, I will watch the EU in addition to waiting for GJ setups..EU trades in another post..

Up-and-Down Thursday

Missed all the major news releases of the morning, however looking back they didn't move the markets much at all..things were a bit slow at first, but upon recognizing the uptrend, I was looking for longs and hopped in on what I deemed to be a decent-looking pullback..almost immediately I was spiked out for a loss, only to see price bounce rite back to my buying level...I hopped in again and after a couple mins price spiked in my favour very fast..once I had made enough to cover my previous loss and then some, I exited, after which price dove down again...spikey price action and I was lucky to get out of my second trade with good profit..-10pips and +13 to start the day..

Wednesday

Been at the charts since 8am est, and the GBPJPY was slow-moving to say the least...no real direction, and any break up or down had no momentum for a continuation...eventually we got some movement to the upside which followed-through, and I managed to miss any upside entry until it was too late...caught a few pip on a retrace (very risky)..these types of setups I trade with smaller lots as they are against the current trend...then got a few pips with the trend rite after..decent day however pips were slow to come by...back again tomorrow

Tuesday trading

Just the one trade for me today so far, waited for the momentum to indicate a downward trend, then timed an entry off a pullback and continuation..+7 pips, not sure how much more I'll trade today as have to head out and run some errands..

Monday morning

After a mediocre, quiet week last week (which was still profitable), I had a restful weekend here and am looking for some good moves this week. There are quite alot of news releases which should hopefully provide the volatility I enjoy scalping from. Woke up this morning to see that the GBPJPY had been quite choppy for much of the European session, anyway managed to catch this trade for about +6 pips, quick in and out with no real stress (other than the terrible buy fill my broker gave me lol)..waited for the c27 signal long then took a pullback and continuation on the c6..

Friday's U.S. session

Trading live from Toronto (I flew in yesterday afternoon)...Unless there's a significant news release, Friday's can be a bit slow, but there was a decent push downwards that I managed to catch a bit of..the choppy price action kept me out of an earlier entry but I managed to grab a couple of pips out of the move..I'll be monitoring the charts for another couple of hours so let's see if something else comes..

USD news trade

Waited for the next release of important USD news...reaction was minimal and i chased a trade that really wasn't there...in at the break of previous resistance however price only stalled and i pulled the plug before it got too far away (another important discipline - closing losers early)..basically a flat day for me now as I erased the gains of the previous trade..will see what else the market brings today..

GBP Interest Rate trade

Made it to my computers just in time to trade the Pound interst rate announcement. Rate statements normally provide quite a bit of volatility, and this was no exception. The large push up was followed by a steep retracement, however as soon as it turned up again I looked for an entry...when price hesitated I exited but as is normally the case, there were more pips on the table after my exit.. +7pips and it's still early in the session...

U.S. session

Price action on the GBPJPY has been choppy for the most part this morning, however there was a huge drop just after the stock markets opened...as you can see from the chart, there were alot more pips to be made on the way down, but I'll happily take my +12..doubt I'll trade any more today as I have some errands to run..

Late night trade

Decided to take a look at the AUDJPY pair as there was some significant Australian dollar news released...waited for the initial market reaction and grabbed a few pips, wasn't an ideal trade setup but I'll take +5 pips any day especially as I don't normally trade at this time..will be trading most of the day tomorrow..

Early morning news trade

5:30am and I'm up trading the news..a little about my trading style in case you're unfamiliar...I scalp the GBPJPY (British Pound crossed with the Japanese Yen), jumping in and out, looking to target a few pips on each trade..anyway the news was released and the data was positive for the Pound, but the market took a while to respond and when it did, volatility was minimal...I managed to grab +11 pips...more than enough for me and I won't be able to trade the u.s. session as I'm busy this morning..first pic shows the trade on a 27 cyrox chart with power tool indicators, and the second shows the trade on a naked (no indicator) 6 cyrox rainbow..i take signals off of the c27 and use the c6 for timing entries...back tomorrow

Test 2

This is a test of a trade picture. It's Monday and a holiday in the U.S., therefore the currency markets are moving very slowly (stock market closed). I doubt I will be doing any trading today however will be up early to trade a bit of the European session as well as the U.S. tomorrow. This picture is just a test.
